DJI Manifold 3 Onboard Computer

Please CONTACT US if you are interested in this product.

The DJI Manifold 3 is a high-performance onboard computer that packs up to 100 TOPS of computing power into a compact unit of about 120 g. Built for the DJI Matrice 400 and the Matrice 4 and Matrice 4D Series, it lets trained models, inspection software and real-time analysis run at the point of capture on the aircraft, rather than streaming raw footage to a ground station or back office.

Up to 100 TOPS onboard

Computing power of up to 100 TOPS, measured using the INT8 computation precision standard and based on a sparse computing model, drawn from a GPU and DLA working in parallel.

Compact and rugged

Weighs 120 plus or minus 5 g and measures 98 x 57 x 36 mm, with an IP55 ingress protection rating measured under controlled conditions.

Operator and developer ready

Install packaged PSDK applications through DJI Pilot with no development work, or build custom on-board AI against the PSDK open interface and CUDA components.

On-board computing where the data is captured

Manifold 3 delivers up to 100 TOPS of computing power. This figure is measured using the INT8 computation precision standard, based on a sparse computing model. The module uses GPU and DLA (deep learning accelerator) components to perform and accelerate algorithm models. The 100 TOPS consists of 60 TOPS from the GPU and 40 TOPS from the DLA, allowing parallel algorithm acceleration on both the GPU and the DLA.

Running analysis on the aircraft supports scenarios such as power line inspection, solar asset surveys, construction progress monitoring, geospatial mapping, forestry and public safety work, where the goal is to interpret data at the point of capture. Memory is 16 GB LPDDR5 with a 256 GB SSD for storage.

Built for the Matrice fleet

Manifold 3 is supported on the DJI Matrice 400, the DJI Matrice 4 Series and the DJI Matrice 4D Series. On the Matrice 400 it mounts to the aircraft's underside mounting points and brackets. On the Matrice 4 Series and Matrice 4D Series it can additionally be mounted to the top E-Port, which suits docked operations where the underside is occupied.

Fitting a specific aircraft may require the matching Manifold 3 accessory or mount kit. Confirm the exact kit for your target platform with the GoUAV team.

Interfaces that fit the aircraft

The E-Port interface supports the DJI Matrice 400 E-Port V2 interface. On the Matrice 400, Manifold 3 only supports the E1, E2 and E3 ports of the E-Port V2, with E3 the recommended option.

The USB-C interface uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 protocol, with transfer rates up to 5 Gbps. The USB-C port does not output HDMI or DisplayPort.

Thermal design and durability

Power consumption depends on the task. Under direct sunlight and an ambient temperature of 40 C, Manifold 3 can reach a maximum power consumption of up to 33 W. As ambient temperature rises, the maximum power the thermal design can sustain decreases. Rated power is 33 W.

The unit operates from minus 20 to 50 C and stores from minus 20 to 60 C. Ingress protection is rated IP55, measured under controlled conditions. The rating is not permanently effective and may decrease due to product wear and tear.

Power and expandability

On the Matrice 400, Manifold 3 is powered through the E-Port V2 at 24 V input. It can also be powered through the USB-C interface with a PD-compatible adapter. DJI lists supported PD adapters as the DJI 65 W portable charger, the DJI 100 W desktop charger, and the Apple 61 W and 140 W USB-C power adapters.

The USB-C interface supports USB expansion docks including the UGREEN CM512 Type-C Dock and the Anker (A8380) 553 PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB-C Hub, both with no display output. USB-C flash drives and portable SSDs connect directly, while USB-A drives connect via a USB-C OTG cable.

Operator and developer paths

Operators can install commercially packaged PSDK applications (.dpk) through the DJI Pilot app with no development work. Developers can build custom on-board AI against the PSDK open interface, which includes the Function Set and API documentation, together with the CUDA computing components, then submit for DJI's mass-production review to list in the Ecosystem Products Catalogue.

Data can be exported by connecting an external USB flash drive or portable SSD via USB-C and exporting through the relevant DJI Pilot application, or by connecting to a computer over USB-C and using DJI Assistant 2 to mount the system file directory. During development and debugging, data can also be transferred over SSH or SFTP.

Compatibility guidance and FAQ

Which aircraft is the Manifold 3 compatible with?

Manifold 3 is supported on the DJI Matrice 400, the DJI Matrice 4 Series and the DJI Matrice 4D Series. Fitting a specific aircraft may require the matching Manifold 3 accessory or mount kit, so confirm the exact kit for your platform with GoUAV.

How does it mount to the aircraft?

On the Matrice 400 it mounts to the aircraft's underside mounting points and brackets. On the Matrice 4 Series and Matrice 4D Series it can additionally be mounted to the top E-Port, which suits docked operations where the underside is occupied.

What does the 100 TOPS figure mean?

Up to 100 TOPS is measured using the INT8 computation precision standard, based on a sparse computing model. It is made up of 60 TOPS from the GPU and 40 TOPS from the DLA, allowing parallel algorithm acceleration across both.

Can it output video over USB-C?

No. The USB-C interface uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 protocol with transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, but the port does not output HDMI or DisplayPort. The supported USB expansion docks also have no display output.

How much power does it consume?

Power consumption depends on the task. Under direct sunlight and an ambient temperature of 40 C, Manifold 3 can reach a maximum power consumption of up to 33 W. As ambient temperature rises, the maximum power the thermal design can sustain decreases. Rated power is 33 W.

Do I need to be a developer to use it?

No. Operators can install commercially packaged PSDK applications (.dpk) through the DJI Pilot app with no development work. Developers can build custom on-board AI against the PSDK open interface and CUDA computing components, then submit for DJI's mass-production review.

How are firmware upgrades handled?

System firmware upgrades are supported on the Windows version of DJI Assistant 2 (Enterprise Series) only. There is no macOS path for firmware flashing.

How do I get data off the module?

Connect an external USB flash drive or portable SSD via USB-C and export through the relevant DJI Pilot application, or connect to a computer over USB-C and use DJI Assistant 2 to mount the system file directory and copy data in Windows Explorer. During development and debugging, data can also be transferred over SSH or SFTP.
