TELEEYE SA UNVEILS SOUTH AFRICA'S FIRST DEDICATED UAV PORTAL
The team of certified thermal imaging experts that recently launched South Africa's first web portal to showcase the most appropriate thermal devices across sectors has this week unveiled the country's first online portal dedicated to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Colloquially known as 'drones', UAVs are finding growing favour across a range of applications including search and rescue, firefighting, security, agriculture, roof and solar panel inspections, aerial surveys and photography, and many other potential uses that benefit from an 'eye in the sky'.
GoUAV.co.za now complements GoThermal.co.za as the twin online retail presence of TeleEye SA, a leading provider of imaging, sensing and security products to both consumers and corporations across South Africa. In particular, TeleEye SA distributes DJI industrial drones and accessories, FLIR thermal imaging products and Optex detection devices.
DJI (Dà-Jiāng Innovations Science and Technology Co., Ltd) is a Chinese drone leader manufacturing UAVs, gimbals, flight platforms, cameras, propulsion systems, camera stabilisers and flight controllers. The Economist in 2015 described the company as being at the "forefront of the civilian-drone industry". FLIR core thermal systems that seamlessly integrate with DJI drone products including the flagship Xenmuse XT gimbal that is available on TeleEye SA's other online retail platform, GoThermal.co.za.
GoUAV.co.za's cores seamlessly attach thermal imaging equipment onto drone products using a range of specially-designed gimbals. Whether thermal imaging cameras, components or imaging sensors, GoUAV's extensive product range turns drones into formidable aerial surveillance systems.
"TeleEye SA has many years’ experience providing industries and consumers across South Africa with imaging, sensing and security products. We wanted to bring that experience to the online world while still offering the guaranteed personalised pre-sales service and after sales support of a bricks and mortar retail store," said TeleEye SA managing director, Philip Smerkovitz.
Thermal cameras of the type available at GoThermal.co.za attached to UAVs are starting to make a hugely positive impact in South Africa's war against crime, for example. It is well documented that UAVs equipped with thermal cameras enable public and private law enforcement officers to track, locate and capture criminals more efficiently than officers on the ground.
With simple power-in and video-out connections, and MAVlink (Micro Air Vehicle link) compatibility, it’s easy to integrate GoThermal.co.za's thermal imaging systems onto GoUAV.co.za's drones and get flying fast.
