DJI and FLIR have partnered once again to develop the XT2 –
a new thermal sensor that pushes the industry forward by packing in more power and intelligence in one payload than ever before. The Zenmuse XT2 relies on a dual sensor design, giving pilots visual and thermal data simultaneously. To help interpret this data, the XT2 has new intelligent features that make gleaning actionable insights from both streams of data a breeze – including new tracking and alert functions, FLIR MSX blending technology and the same visualization features built into the original XT.
1. Dual Sensor Configuration
The Zenmuse XT2 builds on top of FLIR’s dual sensor configuration, combining FLIR’s Tau 2 thermal sensor and 12MP visual camera. Additionally, the XT2 utilizes the highest end Tau 2 sensors, with all models having advanced radiometric capabilities – storing temperature data in every pixel – and a max 30Hz thermal frame rate.
2. Rugged Encasing
The XT2’s dual sensors are housed within a weather resistance encasing, providing an IP44 level rating. This makes it the first DJI camera to match the M200 Series’ rugged build, combining to form a drone solution that can fly through light rains.
