The DJI Matrice 400 Third Gimbal Connector is an official Matrice 400 mounting accessory that adds a third payload position to your aircraft, expanding how many sensors you can carry on a single flight. It supports flexible attachment through either a quick-release port or screw lock fastening, giving operators room to build multi-sensor payload configurations for inspection, mapping and survey work.
Third payload position
One of the Matrice 400 mounting options alongside single downward, dual downward and the Zenmuse L3 single gimbal connector, enabling a third gimbal connector setup.
Up to 6 kg payload
The third gimbal connector supports up to 6 kg payload, measured at the connector under sea level conditions.
Two fastening methods
3 kg for the quick-release port and 6 kg for screw lock fastening, so you can match the attachment to your payload needs.
Built for multi-sensor payloads
The Third Gimbal Connector extends the Matrice 400 payload layout, allowing a third gimbal to be added to the aircraft. According to DJI, the maximum payload for the third gimbal connector is 3 kg for the quick-release port and 6 kg for screw lock fastening. The 6 kg maximum is measured at the third gimbal connector under sea level conditions, and payload capacity decreases as altitude increases.

Part of a flexible payload system
The Matrice 400 offers four mounting options: single downward, dual downward, third gimbal connector, and the Zenmuse L3 single gimbal connector. When the single downward gimbal, the dual downward gimbal and the third gimbal connector are used simultaneously, DJI states the total weight of non-DJI payloads must not exceed 6 kg. DJI advises contacting the payload manufacturer for a test report to ensure safe flight during low battery conditions.
